GP Bullhound announces seven senior promotions including Carl Wessberg as new Partner
25 January 2019 – After a strong year in which GP Bullhound has closed deals with some of the tech sector’s best entrepreneurs, opened its New York office and closed its fourth fund, the firm continues to strengthen its global team with a number of significant promotions across its Corporate Finance, Fund Management and Operations teams.
Carl Wessberg promoted to Partner, Corporate Finance
Carl heads up GP Bullhound’s Corporate Finance business in Sweden where he has built a dynamic team covering the Scandinavian region. Over the years he has become an established dealmaker, leading some of GP Bullhound’s marquee transactions such as DeliveryHero, Klarna, MatHem, The North Alliance, Icomera, Extenda and Pingdom among others. Carl joined the Corporate Finance team in 2012 bringing with him expertise in Enterprise Software, Fintech and Digital Services.
Jonathan Cantwell promoted to Executive Director, Corporate Finance
Based in our San Francisco office, with 13 years of technology investment banking experience, Jon leads our efforts in the SaaS sector. Jon has completed over 50 transactions with public and private emerging growth tech companies, including many cross-border deals. Notable M&A transactions in the last year include the sales of Falcon.io, Synthesio, Rant & Rave, Zugata and TextRecruit, among many others.
Elsa Hu promoted to Executive Director, Corporate Finance
Elsa leads GP Bullhound’s activities in Asia from the firm’s Hong Kong office. Having joined GP Bullhound in 2018, she is a highly experienced banker with over 12 years’ experience honed at Goldman Sachs and China Renaissance Securities where she led the cross-border M&A efforts focusing on China outbound activities.
Ben Prade promoted to Executive Director, Fund Management
As a member of GP Bullhound’s Asset Management team, Ben has been appointed Executive Director and will formally take leadership for the sales, marketing and client management of our investment products. After a long and varied career, he will be working closely with our institutional relations as well as with the successful technology entrepreneurs in our network that have turned investors. GP Bullhound manages in excess of €130m.
Ravi Ghedia promoted to Director, Corporate Finance
Since joining GP Bullhound in 2012, Ravi has become one of our strongest bankers in the Digital Services, Software and FinTech sectors. Based out of the firm’s London office he has worked on many marquee deals including Inside Ideas Group, Karmarama, Bullit, Solita and Prodigy Finance.
Joy Sioufi promoted to Director, Corporate Finance
Based in our Paris office, Joy is an experienced technology banker with a strong TMT background. Joy joined GP Bullhound in 2016 after leading the strategic planning division at Criteo and having spent several years in investment banking. In recent years, he has been involved in some of GP Bullhound’s key deals in the region across several verticals, including Ecovadis, Prodigy Finance and Monese.
Iman Crisby promoted to Director, Marketing
Having joined the firm in 2013, Iman is in charge of GP Bullhound’s Marketing, Communications and Events. Over the years she has played a key role in growing the firm’s brand globally.
