Fetch acquired by Dentsu Aegis

Building focused expertise and capability at scale for mobile marketing.

London, 10 November 2014 - GP Bullhound, the international technology investment bank, acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Fetch Media Limited (“Fetch”), the global full-service mobile agency, on its sale to Dentsu Aegis Network.

Headquartered in London and with offices in the US, Germany and Hong Kong, Fetch is one of Europe’s most awarded mobile advertising agencies. The business was founded in 2009 by James Connelly and Declan Reddington and currently employs 96 mobile experts delivering mobile strategy, media, creative and analytics services to a wide range of clients in over 90 countries.

Fetch will retain its brand identity and work collaboratively with Dentsu Aegis Network’s market-leading brand, media and communications businesses to help scale and accelerate the group’s mobile capabilities.

James Connelly, co-founder and CEO of Fetch, commented: “This is a logical next step for Fetch as we look to deliver our ambitious growth plans and scale our business globally. GP Bullhound’s service was second to none and we were delighted with our choice of adviser. Its extensive sector experience proved invaluable in selecting the right partner for us and making the deal happen. We are now very excited about the opportunity to partner with Dentsu Aegis Network to deliver world-class mobile capabilities on behalf of an increasing number of mobile-focused clients.”

GP Bullhound Partner Simon Nicholls commented: “We are delighted to have successfully delivered this transaction for Fetch. We see very substantial growth still ahead for mobile marketing as consumer engagement with brands and commerce across mobile devices is ramping up at speed. Yet at the same time, service providers with focused expertise and capability at scale in this arena are still very rare. GP Bullhound has now successfully completed transactions for three of the leading global mobile marketing agencies – Fetch, Essence and Somo – all within the last 24 months.”

This represents the completion of GP Bullhound’s 25th transaction in 2014. The transaction underlines the firms’ depth of experience in the digital marketing and adtech sector, being the 6th transaction completed in this sector in the last twelve months alone, following recent transactions completed including Realise, Somo, Cambridge Technology Partners and Fjord.
