Empowering outdoor enthusiasts with the ideal trail navigation companion.
Madrid, 27 June 2023 – GP Bullhound acted as exclusive financial advisor to Miura Partners’ Impact Fund on its growth investment into Wikiloc, the leading trail navigation software for outdoor discovery in Southern Europe.
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Girona, Spain, Wikiloc is the leading consumer subscription software for outdoor activities in Southern Europe, providing GPS navigation solutions to discover, explore and share routes and trails. Since its foundation, Wikiloc has managed to organically build a fast-growing, loyal, and global community, with more than 12 million registered users, creating a unique user-generated content driven platform of over 43 million routes across 190 countries.
Luis Seguí, Founding Partner and CEO of Miura Partners commented: “Wikiloc is the kind of project that we want to support from Miura Impact Fund: a company with a clear business model oriented to societal and environmental impact, and a great potential for growth and scalability. Together with the founders and the team, we will drive a sustainable growth plan while preserving the company’s core values. We are happy that GP Bullhound advised us on this transaction. Their deep sector knowledge played an instrumental role for us.”
Miguel Kindelán, Head of Spain Advisory, and Jaime Sendagorta, Director at GP Bullhound commented: “It has truly been a pleasure to advise Miura Partners on their investment into Wikiloc. The company will be supported by Miura in maximizing value creation and driving sustainable growth, positioning Wikiloc for long-term success in the dynamic and fast-growing consumer subscription outdoor space.”
This transaction further strengthens GP Bullhound’s expertise in the consumer subscription space led by Eric Crowley, Partner at GP Bullhound, having advised the acquisition of FATMAP by Strava, as well as AllTrails on its acquisition by Spectrum Equity. Additionally, GP Bullhound acted as advisor in the acquisition of Busuu by Chegg, the sale of Pinkbike to Outside, and the growth investment in Lingoda by Summit Partners, among many others. It also underlines GP Bullhound’s momentum in Spain, following recent transactions completed for clients such as Netrivals (sold to Lengow, back by Marlin Equity Partners) and Busuu (sold to Chegg).
