GP BULLHOUND ADVISED SLASHWHY ON ITS INVESTMENT BY MAXBURG

Driving Digitalisation in Future Industries with Individual Software Solutions

Osnabrück/Hamburg, 1 August 2024 - GP Bullhound acted as exclusive financial advisor to slashwhy, developer of customised software solutions, on the entry of Maxburg as new majority shareholder.

Since its foundation in 2020 as part of a management buy-out (MBO), slashwhy GmbH & Co. KG has established itself as a brand in the field of software development in northern Germany and has grown steadily as a company: Within four years, the number of employees at the two locations in Osnabrück and Hamburg has risen from around 140 to more than 250.

Through the partnership with the investment company Maxburg Beteiligungen IV GmbH & Co. KG, which is advised by Maxburg Capital Management GmbH, slashwhy aims to continue growing with existing customers and at the same time set the course for tapping into new and exciting markets. The aim is to play a key role in shaping digitalisation in industries with future potential and purpose while scaling slashwhy’s business model based on key factors such as agility, user centricity and lived values.

“In Maxburg, we have found an investor who shares our values, understands our culture and believes in our long-term vision.”, Managing Director slashwhy Christina Niemöller, PhD commented. “In order to build on our previous successes together from now on, nothing will change for customers or employees in the ongoing projects.”

Kai Bergmann, Managing Director at slashwhy stated: “GP Bullhound understood us as a company and our individual requirements right from the start and always prioritised these when selecting a suitable partner. Communication was always goal-orientated and at eye level, which contributed to an open and constructive exchange. The entire sales process was clearly structured and well organised for us, which gave us security and clarity at every stage of the process. To summarise, we felt well looked after and supported at all times. GP Bullhound has thus made a decisive contribution to ensuring that we as slashwhy have found a perfect partner to accompany us in the further development of our company in the coming years.”

“With Kai Bergmann, Dr. Christina Niemöller, and Dr. Joachim Wilharm, we partner with a strong management team that has played a decisive role in the outstanding development of slashwhy and will continue to do so in the future”, Georg Landesvatter, Partner at Maxburg added. “We want to support slashwhy in scaling its business and developing the company into a leading platform for software development in Germany. The special corporate culture, the agile mindset, the consistent user-centricity and the claim to excellence have been important success factors for slashwhy in the past – both in the collaboration with customers and in terms of attracting and retaining talent. We want to continue to build on these success factors in the future.”

Martin Rezaie, Partner and Carsten Wagener, Executive Director at GP Bullhound commented: “We are pleased to have advised slashwhy and its shareholders on the strategic partnership with Maxburg. The combination of slashwhy’s technological know-how and vertical expertise together with Maxburg’s experience and network puts the company into an opportune position to capitalise on the growth opportunities in the customised software development space.”

This successful transaction further cements GP Bullhound’s expertise as a leading advisor for digital service providers such as Goat on its sale to WPP, Emergya on its sale to Ayesa as well as the continued strong track record in DACH including the sale of easybill to LEA Partners.
